Our name The Crossing came about because of our desire to have an identity deeper than just youth group, because we wanted something to call ourselves. So the brainstorming started. What kinds of words do we want to be associated with? What should our name say about who we are? Eventually the word journey came up, which we kind of liked, but not completely. So we used a thesaurus and that's when we found the word crossing. This, we all agreed on.
Because, we are all on a journey. We are all crossing over from death to life, from sin to righteousness. And we're on this journey together. Youth group is a chance for us to learn and grow together. Each day we learn to live more like Christ, to turn away from the old lives that we led. We are crossing over to a new life, a life with Christ.
John 5:24 - I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life.
